PA law requires all children under the age of 12 to wear an approved bicycle helmet meeting ANSI, SNELL, ASTM or any other nationally recognized certification when operating or riding as a passenger on a pedalcycle or in a trailer towed by a pedalcycle. The law excludes operators of three wheeled, pedal driven vehicles with a main driving wheel of 20 inches in diameter or less and primarily designed for children 6 years of age or younger.
Please remember that cyclists are held accountable under the same basic rules of the road as vehicles. Always operate your bicycle traveling with the flow of traffic rather than against it.
Bike licenses can be obtained in person from the Lansdale Police Department or online by clicking here. (click "View Permit" tab and scroll to bottom of page). There is no fee for Bike licences.
