All individuals and businesses that possess burglary / security alarms are mandated by PA State Law 7511B and Borough Ordinance 1126 to register alarms with the Police Department. Alarm registration must be completed annually. Fees for alarms are as follows:
$25 residential central station
$35 business central station
Fees are due each year in January and at that time it will be necessary to update your emergency contact information. You can also find a copy of the alarm letter and application here.
False Alarms Prohibited
A person that owns, uses or possesses an alarm device or automatic dialing device may not, after causing or permitting three false alarms to occur in a consecutive twelve month period, cause or permit a subsequent false alarm to occur in the same consecutive twelve month period. A person that violates this commits a summary offense and shall upon conviction be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $300.
Venue for prosecution of an offense under this subsection shall lie at any of the following places:
where the alarm originated
where the alarm was received by the public service agency
