The department in partnership with North Penn Arts Alliance offers art classes throughout the year. The spring session is listed below. Classes held at the Parks & Recreation Office.
Instructor: Dan Fione, North Penn Arts Alliance
Drawing - 8 weeks
TIME: Monday - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
START DATE: October 17
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced artist, you will learn composition, use of line and shading from a professional illustrator. Drawings will be of real objects, photos and your imagination, using both black and white and color media. A $20 materials fee payable to the instructor will be due at the first class
Printmaking/Collage - 8 weeks
Instructor: Barbara Moss Buscher, North Penn Arts Alliance
TIME: Tuesday - 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
START DATE: October 18
Beginners as well as accomplished artists will learn various printmaking techniques, from an award winning artist. Some of these include monoprint/monotype, collograph, and drypoint etching, using an etching press to create beautiful original artwork suitable for framing or gift giving. Working with color and texture you will combine your prints with a variety of mediums such as torn & cut papers, paint and found objects to create unique works of art on paper or board. Experimentation and using your imagination is encouraged, no prior experience needed. Demos and constructive critiques will be given. Supplies will be discussed in first class. Please bring pencil and paper to class.
Abstract Painting - 8 weeks
Instructor: Pauline Tiblis, North Penn Arts Alliance
TIME: Wednesday - 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
START DATE: October 19
This class will explore a variety of mark-making techniques with an emphasis on strengthening and developing your voice as a painter. Demos in drawing and painting intuitively. Discussions about abstract painters and learning how to understand non- representational art. Supplies will be discussed in first class, please bring paper and pencil.
