Roadway Debris & Street Sweeping

The Public Works Department is responsible for clearing all debris from municipal roadways. This includes litter and dead animals, as well as major obstructions such as fallen trees limbs and objects falling off vehicles. The department cleans the streets regularly with a street sweeper.

Fall Leaf Removal & Spring Clean-up

The Public Works Department sponsors four leaf pickup periods each year. Three pickups are scheduled each fall and one pickup is scheduled each spring. In the fall, the pickup periods are the first full week in November and the first full week of December. In the spring, the schedule can vary due to weather. Notices are mailed to all residents several weeks prior to the pickup. These notices advise the resident of which section of town they live in and what their scheduled pickup days will be. Residents are required to place their leaves in Kraft type paper bags. Residents must place the bags where they normally place their household waste for pickup.
