Annual Police Report

Police Annual Report

The men and women of the LPD have worked hard over the past year, to move the police department forward in professionalizing our organization in service to Lansdale.  Beginning in 2020, the world fell victim to the COVID-19 global pandemic which, continued through 2021 and to a lesser degree is with us today, and has had a profound effect on the nation’s mental health as reflected in increased rates of depression, increased thoughts of suicide, and drug overdose deaths. These issues are attributable to the social isolation, as well as economic insecurities, that struck our communities in the spring of 2020.

Lansdale Borough was not immune to these issues and in the fall of 2020, LPD began work to develop a local, multi-disciplined team, to coordinate departmental efforts for people in crisis wherein traditional policing services were falling short of community needs.
